‘I would’ve been ashamed to contest 2024 elections if I were Bawumia’ – Mahama

Former President John Mahama has lambasted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for evading responsibility for Ghana’s economic challenges while positioning himself for the presidency.

During a three-day tour of the Western Region, Mahama accused Dr. Bawumia of taking credit for the government’s successes but shifting blame for its failures to President Akufo-Addo. He described this as a lack of accountability, a key principle of effective governance.

Mahama criticized the current administration for worsening hardships, warning that retaining the NPP could lead to further mismanagement. He claimed the party prioritizes self-interest over national welfare, adding, “If the NPP is given another term, they might one day sell the country.”

He urged voters to reflect carefully on their choices in the upcoming elections.
