The National Election Security Task Force (NESTF) has warned political parties against using "machomen" or well-built individuals to intimidate voters during the upcoming election.
During a meeting with political parties on December 3, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, NESTF Chairman, condemned the use of state security uniforms by party foot soldiers to cause chaos at polling stations.
He emphasized that any such actions would be met with strict legal consequences.
NESTF's plans aim to ensure a peaceful and transparent election, with political parties urged to comply with security guidelines.
Representatives from the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party expressed support for the task force’s measures while calling for an end to misinformation about the election process.
