The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has criticized the Akufo-Addo-led administration's use of loans, suggesting that with better resource management, Ghana could have achieved a more advanced development

Speaking at a special prayer session in the Ashanti Region on December 2, Mahama compared his administration’s achievements with the current government’s spending.

He stated, “Within five years, [President Akufo-Addo] took a loan of $11.5 billion. I was in power for four years, all the things we did, new harbors, airports, and all the things were from a $3.5 billion loan that we took.”

Mahama further emphasized, “Ghana would have been like Dubai under me if I got the kind of money Akufo-Addo had,” highlighting his belief in the potential for greater national progress with more efficient use of resources.
