Former Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has addressed the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) loss in the 2024 elections, where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) claimed victory in both the presidential and parliamentary races.

Speaking to the media, Afenyo-Markin described the defeat as a moment for reflection, not despair, and a chance to renew the party's commitment to Ghana’s democracy.

He acknowledged the disappointment among supporters but urged calm, emphasizing respect for the electorate's decision.

Reflecting on the NPP's 2016 landslide, he noted, "The political landscape is ever-changing; this loss does not define us."

Afenyo-Markin assured that the party would regroup, reassess, and strategize to regain public trust, viewing the setback as part of democracy's dynamic process.
