James Kwabena Bomfeh, a devout Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA), has stated that voting on the Sabbath is not sinful if done with a clear conscience.
Speaking on JoyFM’s Newsnight on November 27, he emphasized that the decision to vote on December 7, a Saturday, is a personal choice for church members.
Bomfeh noted that while the SDA Church has consistently advocated for election dates to avoid Saturdays, the Electoral Commission (EC) has maintained December 7 as the fixed voting day since 1992, citing constitutional and logistical reasons.
The SDA Church recently reiterated its stance, encouraging members to weigh their convictions before voting.
Bomfeh plans to vote, describing it as a solemn duty to God and society.
