Businessman and entrepreneur Senyo Hosi has criticized the Electoral Commission (EC) and its chairperson, Jean Mensa, for the delay in announcing the presidential election results.
He pointed out that the NPP's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, conceded defeat within 16 hours of the polls closing, questioning why it took longer for the EC to declare the outcome.
On TV3’s Ghana Decides program, Hosi described the process as a "farewell" for Jean Mensa, adding that the EC's official declaration was outdated despite the significant amount of money spent.
On December 9, 2024, Jean Mensa officially declared John Dramani Mahama as the winner, securing 56.55% of the vote.
