Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the distribution of food to voters during the recent special voting exercise by Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Lydia Seyeram Alhassan.
Speaking at a rally in Bosome Freho, Ashanti Region, Mahama stressed that such acts, alongside recording videos and photos at polling stations, violate Ghana’s electoral laws and undermine the fairness of the process.
He urged political stakeholders to protect the integrity of elections and called on investigative bodies to address the matter, emphasizing, "An honorable person should not engage in such activities."
Mahama’s remarks highlight concerns about ensuring a level playing field in Ghana’s electoral process.
