Unidentified individuals, reportedly supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), attacked the head office of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in Accra on Monday morning.
According to a staff member, the group arrived at the office demanding that employees vacate the premises.
The staff sought refuge in an office while reporting the incident, claiming that such attacks typically occur with every change in government.
The attackers damaged a photo of President Akufo-Addo and other officials at the reception area but did not gain full access to the main offices.
Military personnel later arrived to restore order at the scene.
Public office takeovers by party supporters are common in Ghana after elections.
