North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has hailed the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) election win as a “total decimation” of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
John Dramani Mahama emerged victorious with 56.55% of the vote, defeating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP, who secured 41.61%.
This marks Mahama’s return to the presidency after leaving office in 2017. The NDC also gained a parliamentary majority.
In an interview on Citi FM, Ablakwa called it the “greatest political comeback in history,” crediting Ghanaians for rejecting the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.
He accused the NPP of arrogance and ignoring public concerns, claiming their governance destroyed livelihoods, harmed the environment, and prioritized self-interest over national needs.
