NPP clearly lost because 2m of our supporters didn’t vote – Akomea

Nana Akomea, Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), has pointed out that about 2 million New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters who voted in 2020 did not participate in the 2024 elections.

He attributed the NPP's loss to voter apathy.

Akomea also highlighted that President-elect John Dramani Mahama secured the same number of votes in 2024 as he did in 2020, suggesting that his support base remained stable.

This shift in voter turnout and lack of increased support for the NPP were key factors in the party’s defeat, according to Akomea.
