The Electoral Commission has declared Patrick Boakye-Yiadom of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) the Obuasi East parliamentary election winner after a recount and re-collation process.

Boakye-Yiadom secured 18,558 votes, narrowly defeating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Aboagye, who garnered 18,539 votes.

An independent candidate, Adjei Owusu Afriyie, polled 424 votes.

The recount was prompted by discrepancies during the initial collation, drawing significant attention from political stakeholders and observers.

The process, conducted under strict security at the Greater Accra Regional Office, confirmed Boakye-Yiadom's victory, allowing him to retain his parliamentary seat.
