Bryan Acheampong, Ghana’s Minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Abetifi, has reaffirmed his stance that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not concede power to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Initially declared during a unity walk in March 2024, this controversial claim was reiterated on November 23 during the NPP’s “Final Walk” in Abetifi.
Acheampong urged party supporters to remain committed, promising that the NPP would recover all parliamentary seats lost to the NDC in 2020 and secure victory in the 2024 elections.
His comments, criticized by many as divisive, underline the high stakes and tensions surrounding Ghana’s upcoming elections.
Acheampong emphasized that the NPP is mobilizing to ensure continued governance, boosting confidence among the party’s base.
