The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has launched an investigation into alleged misconduct by Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary candidates John Dumelo (NDC) and Lydia Alhassan (NPP) during the special voting exercise on December 2.

Dumelo is accused of engaging with voters in a queue, violating electoral laws.

Meanwhile, Lydia Alhassan was caught on video distributing food and drinks to voters but claims it was intended for party officers. She later admitted to sharing the items with voters when asked.

The OSP is proceeding cautiously, aiming to ensure a fair process before the main election on December 7.

Dumelo has formally petitioned the OSP to investigate Alhassan’s actions.

The findings will be disclosed after the elections to avoid influencing the outcome.
