Benyamin Avornyotse, spokesperson for NDC parliamentary candidate John Dumelo, has criticized the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for including Dumelo in its investigation of alleged electoral misconduct during Ayawaso West Wuogon’s special voting on December 2.
The OSP is probing Dumelo for engaging with voters in a queue, which allegedly breaches electoral laws, and also investigating incumbent MP Lydia Alhassan of the NPP for reportedly distributing items to voters, including security personnel.
Avornyotse dismissed the investigation into Dumelo, claiming it’s an attempt to "equalize" the situation. He argued the focus should be on Alhassan’s actions, urging vigilance and enforcement of electoral laws on Election Day.
Dumelo, he added, will cooperate fully if required.
