One dead in violent clash between NDC and NPP over fertilizer distribution

Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) clashed in Akomadan, Offinso North Constituency, over the distribution of fertilizers promised to farmers by Fred Gyei Asamoah, the NPP’s newly-elected MP.

The fertilizers, reportedly intended for local farmers after the elections, sparked tensions when NDC supporters gathered at the Akomadan Cocoa Shell on Monday morning, demanding that the distribution be non-partisan.

The disagreement escalated into violence, tragically resulting in the death of an individual believed to be an NDC supporter.

Authorities have launched investigations as tensions remain high in the area.

Community leaders are calling for calm while the matter is resolved.
