The Electoral Commission (EC) has reiterated that only accredited individuals, specifically two agents per candidate, will be allowed into collation centers for the ongoing election results process.
This follows reports of residents and party supporters attempting to force their way into these centers in constituencies like Ablekuma West, Ablekuma Central, and Okaikoi North, causing standoffs with security.
Samuel Tettey, EC Deputy Commissioner for Operations, stressed the importance of adhering to accreditation rules to prevent overcrowding and ensure a smooth collation process.
The announcement comes after unrest at the Ayawaso Central collation center, where ballot boxes and papers were destroyed in clashes between police and unidentified individuals.
The EC is urging all parties to cooperate to maintain order and protect the integrity of the election process.
