The Progressive People's Party (PPP) has accused Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) of violating electoral laws during its re-collation and declaration of results for nine disputed constituencies.
The party, in a statement signed by National Chairman Nana Ofori Owusu, claimed the process contravened Constitutional Instrument (C.I.) 127, which outlines the electoral framework.
The PPP argued that the EC lacks authority to re-collate or overturn results already declared by returning officers, urging the commission to respect its structures and legal pathways for redress.
The party expressed concern over the overturning of results in Tema Central, Okaikwei Central, and Obuasi East in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), calling for adherence to previously declared outcomes.
