The National Peace Council (NPC) has expressed grave concern over the destruction, looting, and violence reported during the 2024 elections.
In a statement issued on December 9, NPC Chairman Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi condemned the incidents, calling them unacceptable, and urged all stakeholders to collaborate for peace.
The NPC highlighted the active involvement of its 16 Regional Peace Councils, which are working with stakeholders, including the Ghana Police Service and Regional Security Councils, to address tensions.
These councils have been mediating and escalating cases to relevant authorities for swift resolution.
At the national level, the NPC is coordinating with the Electoral Commission and the National Election Security Taskforce to restore order.
The Council reaffirmed its dedication to fostering dialogue and urged citizens to prioritize peace as Ghana moves forward.
