Police question EC Officer over unauthorised transport of election materials

The Electoral Commission (EC) has addressed concerns over a breach of protocol by the District Electoral Officer (DEO) for Afadjato South, who was questioned for transporting election materials in a private vehicle without a Police escort.

In a statement signed by Deputy Chairman Samuel Tettey, the EC confirmed that the Police had secured the materials and reaffirmed its policy requiring the use of official vehicles and Police escorts for such operations.

The Commission assured the public that the integrity of the elections in the Afadjato South Constituency remains intact. It announced plans to conduct internal investigations while cooperating with the Police inquiry into the incident.

The EC emphasized its commitment to transparency and adherence to protocols to maintain public trust in the electoral process.
