Presidential candidates and their parties have signed a peace pact to uphold peace before, during, and after the December 7 elections.
Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Jean Mensa reassured the public of measures to ensure free, fair, and transparent polls, urging political parties to accept the results. Speaking at the event, she emphasized the need for peace and stability throughout the electoral process.
NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia called on stakeholders, including the media and security agencies, to maintain peace, highlighting Ghana's strong democratic record.
NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama cautioned that the pact’s effectiveness depends on decisive action against violence instigators, warning that inaction could erode trust in the agreement.
