Former Chairman of the National Peace Council, Prof. Emmanuel Asante, has called for calm as Ghana prepares for the December 7 general elections.
Speaking on Bryt FM’s *Adekyee Mu Nsem*, he emphasized the need to safeguard Ghana’s reputation as a peaceful nation in the region.
Addressing recent inflammatory remarks by a Kumasi-based radio presenter and some politicians, Prof. Asante urged a shift to issue-based campaigns devoid of personal attacks and insults.
He cautioned politicians, their spokespersons, and activists to embrace differing opinions and promote peaceful elections.
Prof. Asante also advised the youth to avoid being drawn into political violence, encouraging them instead to focus on securing better futures.
