The Savannah Regional Electoral Commission (EC) has convened a Regional Inter-Party Advisory Committee (RIPAC) meeting to address tensions surrounding the Damongo Constituency election results.

The meeting will involve key stakeholders and assess the EC’s next steps following recent violent events.

Protests erupted over delayed results, leading to the tragic death of NDC supporter Sibannira Mukaila, who was shot during the unrest and later died at St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital.

Demonstrators also set the EC office ablaze, causing extensive damage.

The Ghana Police Service has since arrested 12 suspects linked to the violence.

The National Peace Council and WANEP have condemned the attacks, urging calm and restraint.

Authorities are investigating the incident, while the RIPAC meeting seeks to restore order and ensure a peaceful resolution.
