The Supreme Court has invalidated the re-collated parliamentary election results for Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South, reversing the Electoral Commission's (EC) previous declarations for these constituencies.
The court upheld the results for Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ahafo Ano South West.
This decision, which stems from the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) challenge of a December 20 High Court order, underscores the judiciary’s critical role in resolving electoral disputes and ensuring procedural compliance.
The High Court had directed the EC to re-collate results in nine constituencies, sparking legal and political contention. Seven re-collations, favoring the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have been conducted, with Dome/Kwabenya and Ablekuma North still pending.
Justice Gabriel Pwamang emphasized the court's discretionary power in quashing the mandates.
