Security analyst Professor Kwesi Aning has endorsed the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to suspend re-collation of parliamentary results in nine constituencies, including Dome Kwabenya and Techiman South.
The EC attributed the move to procedural breaches and threats to its staff, following disruptions caused by political party agents.
EC Chair Jean Mensa emphasized that results for these constituencies would not be upheld to safeguard the electoral process.
Dr. Aning described the decision as crucial to prevent escalating tensions and preserve public trust. He also noted concerns over the readiness of security agencies to ensure a secure electoral environment, despite their efforts to manage chaos during the process.
The EC has reiterated its commitment to upholding electoral integrity.
