President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to uphold the nation’s democratic principles as they head to the polls.
Speaking from Jubilee House on the eve of the 2024 general elections, he described the ballot as a powerful tool for shaping the future, urging citizens to vote peacefully and responsibly.
Akufo-Addo lauded Ghana’s democratic progress and expressed confidence in the Electoral Commission’s ability to deliver credible elections. He assured the public of robust security arrangements to ensure peace and order.
“Democracy is not just the right to vote; it is the right to live in dignity,” he said, urging Ghanaians to embrace their civic duty and reaffirm Ghana’s standing as a beacon of stability and democracy in Africa.
