The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has rescheduled special voting in the Western and Eastern Regions to December 5, following the discovery of a defaced ballot paper.
EC Chairperson Jean Mensa explained that although the issue involved a single ballot, the entire batch was recalled to preserve electoral integrity.
The EC is reprinting the ballots with enhanced security features, including updated serial numbers, using three printing houses—Buck Press, Acts Commercial, and Innolink.
Security measures around the reprinting process have been strengthened in collaboration with political parties and law enforcement.
Special voting in other regions is proceeding today, December 2, as planned. Mrs. Mensa reassured voters that these measures are crucial to maintaining public confidence and ensuring a transparent election.
