Tensions are high in Tema Central following the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to postpone results collation to Tuesday, December 10, due to safety concerns.
The exercise will occur at 10 a.m. under tight security at the regional police headquarters.
The move follows disagreements between NDC candidate Ebi Bright and NPP’s Charles Forson over the electoral process.
Earlier, Ebi Bright was declared the provisional winner, prompting celebrations among her supporters. However, the NPP has demanded a recount, a request Ebi Bright opposes.
Addressing her supporters, Ebi Bright insisted on upholding the initial results, warning against any tampering with the election outcome.
“Any attempt to rig this election will be met with fierce resistance,” she stated.
Both candidates have called for calm as security forces work to maintain order ahead of the final collation.
