A dispute erupted at the Assemblies of God Church polling station in the Ablekuma West Constituency after food deliveries, allegedly from incumbent MP Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, caused an uproar.
The pickup truck carrying the food was reportedly meant for polling agents and Electoral Commission (EC) officials, but some voters protested, accusing the delivery of being politically motivated.
The vehicle was eventually moved away from the polling station to ease tensions.
NPP member Doris Boakye clarified, “The food is for polling agents and EC officials, not voters.”
Police are present to maintain order as voting continues. Owusu-Ekuful, representing the NPP, faces stiff competition from the NDC’s Kweku Addo in this high-stakes election in the Greater Accra Region.
