‘We do not trust the Electoral Commission’ – NDC’s Fifi Kwetey

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has criticized Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) for perceived partiality, alleging that its actions have fostered distrust in the electoral process.

Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on December 2, Kwetey expressed the NDC’s concerns over the EC's conduct, particularly in relation to its composition and its handling of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and other processes.

He accused the EC of attempting to favor the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and stated that the NDC would closely monitor the EC's actions leading up to the December 2024 elections.

While admitting there is no concrete evidence of electoral manipulation, Kwetey pointed to past incidents as reasons for suspicion and emphasized that the NDC would remain vigilant throughout the election process.
