“We knew we had won by 7pm” – Omane Boamah on NDC’s election victory

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), revealed that by 7 p.m. on December 7, 2024, the party was already certain of its presidential victory.

He shared that data from 20,000 polling stations showed a clear trend in favor of the NDC, with former President John Mahama leading with 56.55% of the votes, well ahead of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 41.61%.

Boamah credited the NDC’s fast and efficient internal collation system for its early confidence, noting that even potential disruptions would not have impacted the outcome. He praised the party’s polling agents, ward officers, and executives for ensuring transparency and effective monitoring.
