The United States has congratulated John Dramani Mahama on his victory in Ghana’s 2024 presidential election.

In a December 10 statement, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken commended Ghana’s democratic process and the Electoral Commission's commitment to transparency and fairness.
Ghana was praised as a model of democracy in Africa.
Acknowledging isolated incidents of violence during the elections, including four confirmed deaths, the U.S. extended condolences to the affected families and called for thorough investigations.
Reaffirming its partnership with Ghana, the U.S. expressed readiness to collaborate with President-elect Mahama to advance shared values of peace, democracy, and development.
