The National Peace Council and WANEP have condemned the burning of the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Damongo, Savannah Region, amidst tensions over delayed parliamentary election results.
They urged political leaders to call their supporters away from collation centres, emphasizing the need to respect the integrity of the electoral process and allow EC officials to work transparently.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has arrested 12 suspects linked to post-election violence, including setting the Damongo EC office ablaze, vandalizing properties, and looting a warehouse in Tamale.
Investigations are ongoing, with police pledging justice for the attacks that led to one death from gunshot wounds.
