A Kumasi High Court has remanded 14 out of 16 individuals arrested in connection with electoral violence in Damongo, Savannah Region.
The unrest, triggered by delays in election results on December 8, led to the death of one person and the burning of the Electoral Commission's district office.
The suspects, arraigned in Kumasi for security reasons, are charged with causing unlawful damage, harm, and obstructing electoral officials.
Their pleas were not taken as the State Attorney requested more time for investigations.
Two minors among the accused were released to the care of Alhaji Imor Seidu, who is to ensure their court attendance.
The remaining suspects will reappear on December 19, 2024.
