89 persons arrested for various acts of violence

The Ghana Police Service has arrested 89 individuals in connection with acts of violence following the 2024 elections.

Of these, 40 are linked to vandalism, property destruction, and looting that occurred across the country.

At a press briefing on December 9, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi confirmed that all suspects are currently in custody and will undergo legal proceedings.

A special investigation team has been set up to review videos of the violence and identify further perpetrators.

The police have urged the public to avoid engaging in violent acts, warning that those involved will be arrested and face the law.

The authorities remain committed to ensuring justice for the affected communities.
