Alex Cobbinah, a young man impersonating a soldier, has been arrested by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for spreading false claims in a viral video.

Cobbinah alleged that President-elect John Dramani Mahama planned to dismiss soldiers recruited through protocol means.

Wearing a Ghana Navy vest, he displayed military items in the video to mislead the public.

Investigations revealed Cobbinah had shared multiple videos pretending to be a soldier. He was apprehended at Madina Zongo Junction and handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further action.

GAF has cautioned the public against paying agents for military enlistment and warned that unauthorized use of military gear violates Ghana's laws, with offenders facing prosecution.
