Morning show host invited by police for disinformation

The Ghana Police Service has invited Oheneba Nana Asiedu, Morning Show host for Wontumi Radio in the Ashanti Region, for questioning over the publication of false news.

In a viral video, Oheneba falsely claimed that the presidential election would be conducted on different dates for each candidate.

The police consider his remarks as disinformation capable of misleading the public, especially with the 2024 elections approaching.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has asked Oheneba to assist in investigations.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to addressing the spread of fake news to ensure credible elections.
