The Ghana Police Service has arrested nine individuals linked to an arson attack on the Electoral Commission’s (EC) office in Ayensuano, Eastern Region, following the December 7 election results declaration.

The suspects allegedly set the facility ablaze during a protest, destroying electoral materials and devices used in the December 7 general elections.

Chief Inspector Priscilla Nkrumah Peprah assured the public of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order, revealing that a total of 106 individuals have been arrested in connection with post-election unrest nationwide.

“The police remain committed to protecting communities and upholding law and order,” she emphasized.

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation and underscored the need for peaceful resolution of political tensions.
