Sunyani: Police arrest 8 suspects over attack on Metro Mass workshop

The Ghana Police Service has arrested eight individuals for attacking a Metro Mass Transit workshop in Sunyani, Bono Region.

The suspects reportedly broke into the facility and threatened workers, forcing them to leave.

This incident adds to a total of 97 arrests made in connection with looting and destruction of property after the December 7 elections.

ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi assured the public of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security.

In a related event, calm was restored at Metro Mass Transit headquarters in Accra after 35 individuals, allegedly NDC supporters, entered the premises to "safeguard" property amidst looting fears.

Police intervened, resolving the situation, and normal operations have resumed.

Reports of theft at other state properties, including NADMO offices, highlight rising tensions in the post-election period.
