#2024 polls:NDC demands removal of Presiding Officer in Manhyia South

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demanded the immediate removal of the Presiding Officer at the Jack City Dichemso Polling Station in the Manhyia South Constituency, Ashanti Region.

According to Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, NDC Director of Elections and IT, the Presiding Officer allegedly broke the party’s seal on a ballot box without notifying party agents, violating electoral protocols.

“This act undermines the transparency and fairness of the electoral process,” Dr. Boamah said, calling for a replacement to restore confidence.

The NDC confirmed that an audit of the ballot box contents is ongoing to ensure no irregularities.

The party has urged the Electoral Commission to act swiftly to prevent further incidents that could compromise the election’s integrity.
