The Electoral Commission (EC) has rejected the parliamentary results for Okaikwei Central and Ablekuma North, citing serious irregularities during the collation process.
EC Chairperson Jean Mensa revealed that results from 31 polling stations in Okaikwei Central and 62 in Ablekuma North were omitted before declarations were made. Both constituencies were initially declared in favor of National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidates.
Mensa condemned the actions, describing them as "illegal" and influenced by threats from party supporters.
The EC is now set to re-collate results for nine constituencies and has urged the government to enhance security during this process to ensure transparency.
