On November 27, 2024, Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, National UK Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), compared the economic achievements of Presidents Kufour and Akufo-Addo, asserting that both have significantly improved Ghana's economy.

Agyapong noted that under the Kufour administration, Ghana’s GDP grew from 3.4% to 8.5%. He praised the late President John Evans Atta Mills for boosting the GDP to 14% but criticized former President John Dramani Mahama for reducing it back to 3.4% in 2016.

Agyapong emphasized that the NPP government inherited a heavily indebted country with a GDP of 3.4% and pointed out that Ghana’s economy was the world’s fastest-growing before the COVID-19 pandemic, whose effects he acknowledged.

He expressed confidence in President Akufo-Addo's determination to restore the country’s prosperity.
