In a surprising turn of events, two key communicators for President Akufo-Addo, Eugene Arhin and Jefferson Sackey, have lost their bids for parliamentary seats in the 2024 elections.
Arhin, who ran for the Awutu Senya West Constituency under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) banner, did not win against Gizella Agbotui Tetteh of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Similarly, Sackey, another prominent communicator for the presidency, was also defeated in the Ablekuma Central Constituency.
The results have raised questions about the NPP's political standing and the shifting dynamics in the country's electoral landscape. The defeat signals challenges ahead for the ruling party, despite ongoing efforts to maintain its grip on power.
