Presidential hopeful Alan Kyerematen has outlined ambitious reforms to the Free SHS programme, focusing on sustainability and equipping graduates for life after school.

Speaking at the Presidential Encounters 2024, he questioned the policy’s current impact, asking, “After Free SHS, what next?”

Under his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), Kyerematen proposed addressing funding gaps, improving school infrastructure, and revamping the curriculum to meet job market demands.

Key initiatives include a compulsory one-year apprenticeship programme, support for youth entrepreneurs, and recruitment pathways into national security services.

He also pledged 100,000 free satellite internet hotspots nationwide to enhance education and boost digital innovation.

Kyerematen’s vision seeks to empower graduates with skills, opportunities, and practical tools, transforming Free SHS into a robust platform for national development.
