Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to protect Ghana’s cultural and moral values by signing the anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-witchcraft accusation bills into law if elected President.
Speaking at the Believers Worship Center in Kenyase, Ashanti Region, on December 1, 2024, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of safeguarding traditional beliefs from external influences. “Our traditions and values must be preserved,” he stated.
Dr. Bawumia also urged Ghanaians to pray for a peaceful election, stressing the role of divine guidance in Ghana's progress.
The church’s leader, Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, applauded Bawumia’s stance and pledged prayerful support for his presidential bid, reinforcing shared commitment to preserving Ghana’s moral fabric.
