Pandemonium broke out at the Ablekuma West collation centre in Accra after polls closed on December 7.
The chaos ensued when individuals attempted to breach the premises to observe vote collation, leading to a standoff with security personnel and Electoral Commission officials.
Amid the turmoil, agitated residents hurled objects over the barricade, forcing officers to reinforce the gates.
In the confusion, some ballot boxes were thrown over the gate, with others transported in a similar manner.
The incident disrupted the collation process, prompting calls for calm and cooperation.
Security analyst Prof. Kwesi Aning urged increased security deployment to ensure a smooth conclusion to the elections as authorities worked to restore order.
