The Electoral Commission (EC) has suspended efforts to resolve nine parliamentary disputes nationwide, including the contentious Ablekuma North Constituency.
This decision has drawn backlash from representatives of both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who view the move as undermining transparency and fairness.
The suspension was announced after both parties had collated results from 219 polling stations in Ablekuma North, leaving 61 still unresolved.
Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, former NDC Deputy General Secretary, criticized the directive, calling it unacceptable and detrimental to the election's legitimacy.
Tensions escalated as NDC supporters protested outside the Accra EC office, blocking roads and demanding the declaration of results.
Police intervened to restore order as frustrations over the prolonged process continue to mount.
