Election 2024: Winning Greater Accra Region does not guarantee victory - Prof Smart

Prof. Smart Sarpong, a Senior Researcher at Kumasi Technical University, has rejected claims that winning the Greater Accra Region guarantees victory in Ghana's 2024 general election.

While Greater Accra is considered a swing region and a key battleground for the two main parties, NDC and NPP, Sarpong argued that focusing solely on this region ignores the importance of the other 15 regions.

He emphasized that winning Greater Accra does not necessarily lead to overall electoral success, urging that all regions' votes should be respected in the electoral process.

Sarpong shared these views during a panel discussion on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show.
