Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP flagbearer, has claimed that the Akufo-Addo government managed Ghana's exchange rate better than the NDC, despite global economic crises.
He highlighted that under the NPP, the cedi depreciated by 72% over eight years, compared to the NDC's 74% during a stable global environment.
Bawumia argued that the NPP’s approach demonstrated resilience and superior economic management in navigating external challenges like COVID-19, the Russia-Ukraine war, and global recessions.
He criticized the NDC for a lack of understanding of exchange rate dynamics, urging Ghanaians to consider external factors in assessing economic performance. Bawumia reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to stabilizing Ghana’s economy under unprecedented global difficulties, contrasting it with the NDC's tenure.
