The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn, has been declared the winner of the Ablekuma North parliamentary seat by the Electoral Commission (EC).
The announcement, made at the Greater Accra Regional Collation Centre on Tuesday evening, followed days of tension and confrontations during the collation process.
The declaration sparked dissatisfaction among her opponents, with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh, alleging that the EC official was pressured by NDC supporters to announce the results.
"The man was put under duress, threatened to be killed," she claimed.
The collation process, marked by suspensions and heated exchanges, resumed after EC Chairperson Jean Mensa's intervention.
Military personnel were deployed to restore calm as NDC supporters massed outside the centre, demanding the announcement of results.
