Gomoa Central Constituency will see something new – A-Plus assures

The Gomoa Central Constituency, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) stronghold for the past eight years, has been claimed by independent candidate Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus.

In an interview with 3news on December 8, A-Plus, now MP-elect, expressed joy, stating, “I am happy because Gomoa Central will see a new kind of change—development in infrastructure and in the lives of the people.”

He attributed his victory to widespread dissatisfaction with the hardships experienced over the last eight years, emphasizing that Ghanaian voters now demand meaningful leadership over material incentives.

“I gave politicians the chance to serve, but they failed, so I decided to do it myself,” he added.

While some constituents supported A-Plus for a fresh perspective, others voiced gender-based biases, expressing disappointment in female leadership.

Sympathizers of the NDC candidate, meanwhile, accepted the results with mixed emotions.
